  • Worked as an Apprentice with M/S Premier Automobiles Ltd. Bombay in 1951.
  • Joined The Bombay Road Transport Corporation, Bombay as a direct recruit as the head of their operation units as a Depot Manager in 1952. As a head of the Depot, was responsible for Traffic Management, Administration etc. as well as Maintenance & repairs of a fleet of Buses attached to the Depot. Have undergone Training at their Central Workshop, Dapodi, Pune, which was then one of the biggest workshops of Asia.
  • Joined The New India assurance Co. Ltd. as a direct recruit in the specialized cadre as Claims Inspector ( Automobile) as their in-house surveyor in the year 1960.Was promoted to the cadre of Regional Automobile Engineer.
  • Subsequently, was brought to the mainstream as Branch Manager then was promoted to the cadre of Divisional Manager & Sr. Divisional manager.
  • In view of the losses in “MOTOR department”, was given the special assignment of initiating and heading the LOSS CONTROL DEPARTMENT at the Corporate office of New India from where I retired on 31-10-1991.
  • During my service as well as after my retirement and also currently, I am continuously engaged in the Insurance connected Training Assignments as a Faculty at various institutions as Corporate Training Centre, New India, their various Regional Training centres. I am a visiting faculty at the College of Insurance, Mumbai.
  • I am a regular visiting Faculty for N.I.A., Pune.
  • I have been addressing various Customer Seminars as well as well as seminars and workshops of various insurance officials including Divisional In-charges as well as Surveyors.
  • I have also addressed a paper on “MOTOR RISK MANAGEMENT” at the Regional Managers’ conference of New India.
  • I was appointed as the LOSS CONTROL ADVISOR to New India in 1995-1996.
  • I have been a faculty for the subject RISK MANAGEMENT ON MOTOR at a few Management Institutions.
  • I have been a regular faculty at the DEVLOPMENT TRAINING CENTRES for the training programmes for the Development Officers of the Non-life Industry, conducted by the flag Co. on behalf of GIC in the Western region right from the inception of the programmes to its conclusion, at various centres.
  • I have been on the sub-committees for recommending the changes in the Motor Tariff.
  • I have been on the committee appointed by GYPSA to go into the aspects of current poor performance in Motor and to suggest the measures for improvement.
  • The industry regularly seeks my opinion on critical claim files as well as on the accuracy of assessments submitted by the surveyors.
